Pregnancy is supposed to be one of the most magical, sacred, and transformative times in a woman’s life.
But for many, it turns into a minefield of warnings, “rules,” fears, and unsolicited advice.
“Don’t lift your arms.”
“Don’t dye your hair.”
“You’ll definitely get sick.”
“You have to suffer, it’s normal.”
“Your body will never be the same.”
What if I told you… most of these are myths?
What if the greatest threat to your peace during pregnancy isn’t your body, but what you’ve been led to believe about it?
Fear vs. Truth
In this blog series, we’ll gently dismantle some of the most common, and unnecessary, fears surrounding pregnancy. From nausea and fatigue to anemia, diabetes, and even emotional trauma, we’ll explore:
- What the symptom really says about your inner world
- Where the fear comes from
- What your body is actually trying to tell you
- How you can reclaim peace, power, and trust in this miraculous journey
This is not medical advice.
This is emotional truth, from one mother to another, from a woman who listens to bodies, trauma, and intuition for a living.
Why This Series Matters
We live in a culture that over, medicalizes pregnancy and underestimates the deep wisdom of women.
A culture that often silences emotions…
Ignores trauma…
Prescribes pills instead of asking questions.
But your pregnancy is not a pathology.
Your body is not broken.
Your fears are not your fault.
An informed mother is a confident one.
A confident mother is a peaceful mother.
And a peaceful mother brings the safest love into the womb.
What You’ll Discover
Over the next six blog posts, you’ll learn how to:
- Release fear-based beliefs that don’t belong to you
- Understand the emotional root of many common “problems” in pregnancy
- Reconnect to your body as your greatest ally, not your enemy
- Experience pregnancy with more joy, softness, and trust
Because you deserve to enjoy this sacred time.
Because your baby deserves to grow in a field of calm, not clouds of fear.
And because it’s time to replace the myth of suffering… with the truth of your inner power.
Part 1: The Myth of Nausea – Is Your Body Really Failing You, or Is It Seaking to You?
“It’s Normal to Feel Miserable”
Nausea is so common in early pregnancy that many women are told:
“It’s a sign of a healthy baby.”
“You just have to get through it.”
“It will pass after the first trimester.”
And while there is a physiological explanation for it, like rising hCG levels, there’s also something deeper.
Because not all women experience nausea.
And some have it for weeks… while others never do.
Why?
Let’s pause and ask a different question:
What if your nausea isn’t just a symptom to fight, but a message to hear?
Nausea Isn’t Always About Food
What if nausea is not about what you’re eating… but about what you’re digesting emotionally?
Many women, in the first weeks of pregnancy, feel:
- Overwhelmed by the sudden shift
- Disconnected from their partner or body
- Uncertain, ashamed, anxious, or even secretly angry
- Unconsciously grieving the loss of their “old self”
But no one asks about that.
They only ask what you’ve eaten.
Meanwhile, your body is processing more than food.
It’s metabolizing your emotional world, too.
A Message from Your Body
Nausea often arises when:
- You’re resisting the pace or intensity of change
- You feel emotionally full, burdened, or unheard
- Your boundaries are unclear (with others, with yourself, with your time)
- Your body is asking you to slow down and be with what’s arising
In my work, I’ve seen women’s nausea lessen dramatically when they:
- Spoke their truth (to their partner, boss, or mother)
- Allowed themselves to rest without guilt
- Let go of needing to be in control
- Healed their own birth experience or inner child wounds
The body calmed when the soul was met.
What Can You Do?
Instead of fighting the nausea, try listening to it.
Ask yourself:
- What am I resisting in this new identity?
- Where am I still in shock, tension, or denial about this new chapter?
- What or who do I need to say no to more clearly?
- What old fears or beliefs am I still carrying?
And then, do one small act of softness:
- Speak. Cry. Journal.
- Ask for help. Take a nap.
- Sit in the sun and place your hands on your belly.
Let your nausea know: “I’m listening now.”
In Summary
Nausea is not your enemy.
It’s not a punishment or a defect.
It’s a coded signal from your inner world, calling you into deeper alignment.
When you meet your body with presence, it responds with peace.
This doesn’t mean you’ll never feel queasy again.
But it does mean you won’t fear it.
You’ll understand it. And that understanding can change everything.
